I started chemotherapy nearly 2 years ago. I had the hardest time trying to find a daily wig that looked and felt like me. I was so discouraged and scared while I shopped around before starting treatment. I'm a messy ponytail girl--I live an active lifestyle and work a healthcare job that requires me to keep my hair pulled back. Every item the stylist showed me felt fussy and foreign. I wanted human hair, but was told I likely wouldn't be able to find one in my price range that could tolerate a real ponytail. I felt like I was losing part of myself.
I was about to leave the store empty handed, when another stylist walked up with an Sparx headband wig in her hands for me to try. It was an older prototype and the only one they had available. I didn't even try it on before buying it -- I just knew it was the right piece for me. It was the perfect shade of brown. It was styled in a real, high ponytail. It looked and felt like my hair. I started crying--I hadn't even lost my hair yet, but it was already giving me hope that I would someday be "me" again.
I eventually found a standard lace front wig that was close-ish to my hair color and denier, but I never felt comfortable or confident in it. To be honest, I kinda resented it. In contrast, my Encelia piece felt like home. I was able to make eye contact with my reflection when I wore it. I was able to workout and feel strong in it. I eventually returned to work without my patients or coworkers knowing my secret. My family often forgot it was a wig.
My hair is slowly regrowing and I finally have enough coverage that I felt comfortable going in public for the first time without a wig last Friday. I am so ready to start rebuilding myself. I just washed my Sparx wig for (hopefully) the last time and, before I put her in storage, I just wanted to say thank you. I am so grateful for Encelia/Sparx and appreciate you creating such a unique, high quality product. Thank you, thank you, thank you--from the bottom of my heart and to the top of my fuzzy head--for giving me some peace and normalcy during such a difficult time.

What a beautiful sport headband wig! I ordered the long, cream blonde luxury synthetic version and it is incredibly comfortable. I should have done the consultation and gotten the Sparx Fit Kit to review the shades in person, but didn't have much time. The actual shade of the cream blonde is much warmer than what it looks like in the photo. I prefer a cooler shade but this is still "a keeper" and I love it enough to order another one.
Kathy, Thank you so much for this thoughtful review — and for the detail about the shade! Our photos are unedited with no filters, but genuinely, I'm sorry it came out warmer than you expected. Color can shift depending on the device and screen you're viewing on so the only fix I can come up with now is to send color swatch out ahead of time.
I'm actively trying to solve the real pain points women run into when ordering hair sight-unseen, and shade-matching is at the top of that list — so I'd genuinely love any and all suggestions you have.
This wig has absolutely saved me. I was struggling with dealing with hair loss and figuring out how to manage an active lifestyle while still feeling/looking like myself. I have been hiking and swimming with this wig and it has been so nice!! This has turned in to my main wig bc it’s so comfortable and much cooler than my regular wigs on hot days! I even wear it around the house on a regular basis. Allison was also extremely helpful with helping me figure out my size and even adding extra grips inside the headband portion for me to make it more secure.

It isnt as grippy as i thought it would be but the fabric is nice and soft .
I absolutely love this wig! It is perfect for my work wear. A shorter option would be lovely as well.
There needs to be more grip (silicone)on the side that is on your head. I am completely bald with a smooth head because of alopecia. When I adjust my wig, the head grip just pops to the top of my head and won’t stay down in place
I love this headband active wig so much. It is the first hair piece of this type I've ever had, I really didn’t know they existed prior to finding Sparx. I can’t tell you how freeing it was to wear this to the gym in a messy bun, when I’ve been having to wear a hat there for years. I felt like I wasn’t hiding beneath a brim anymore. It was extremely secure, I did wear with a wig grip since was working out, but I had no fear with it. Truly life changing in my day to day activities.

The headband wig is beautiful. Fits great, and the luxury synthetic hair is divine! However, I wish you had more colors. I ordered the blonde multi and its pretty, but I feel the highlights are a bit too "chunky." Your next color up is a brown, and that looks too dark. I would like to see a nice highlighted color between blonde and brown. Perhaps a golden blonde with carmel lowlights and lighter blonde highlights in a balyage. It also would be helpful if there was a silicone gripper strip built into the skin side of the headband in the back and the front as an extra measure to prevent any slippage. Also, more lengths would be nice. I had about 5 inches trimmed off my headband wig. A 14 or 16 inch would be wonderful! Thank you and I am planning to order a regular wig when your next 30% off sale happens!!

I think this could be made better. It needs silicone strips on both sides. When I fasten it at the back because it is not stable enough with the fabric that's used it folds over and becomes a problem under my hair.

Your wig has really changed the way I view wigs in regards to myself. I always struggled with body dysmorphia as the hair always made me feel inauthentic and secondary to my own true form. Color was perfect but I will have to take it to a stylist before I could wear it. There is just too much hair. Much too thick to even begin to look real on a petite head.

Just wanted to tell you that I love the new wig cap I ordered - wore it for first time yesterday.
